faytech Japan stands out as a key player delivering reliable touchscreen solutions in Japan tailored to the demanding market. As part of our ongoing series spotlighting faytech’s global leadership, we sat down with Kenji Meguro, General Manager and President of faytech Japan, to discuss his vision, challenges, and innovations in touchscreen solutions in Japan. This interview highlights how faytech Japan is adapting global expertise to meet Japan’s unique needs for precision, durability, and customization in sectors like industrial automation and disaster prevention.
Can you share your professional background and what inspired you to join faytech Japan? How does your previous experience inform your leadership here?
I have extensive experience in business development and corporate planning at major global companies across the automotive and consumer goods industries. What drew me to faytech Japan was the opportunity to leverage my ability to deeply understand customer needs for reaching best solution, create committee relationship for business connections, and develop new sales network to prosper.
My past experience leading cross-cultural teams has been invaluable here, it helps me align our global resources with the unique requirements of the Japanese market for touchscreen solutions in Japan.

Since taking on the role in April 2023, what have been your immediate priorities for faytech Japan? Furthermore, what strategic vision drives your plans for the company?
My first priority was to strengthen relationships with our customers and partners, ensuring they feel supported locally while benefitting from faytech’s global expertise. Strategically, my vision is to establish faytech Japan as the go-to provider for reliable, customizable, and durable touchscreen solutions in Japan where trust relationship and long-term performance are critical. This means investing in local support, expanding industry-specific knowledges, and ensuring our quality assurance are fully aligned with Japanese standards and customer expectations.

What motivated faytech to expand its presence in Japan? Additionally, how has the company evolved in this market since your tenure began?
Japan represents a unique opportunity for faytech because of its high demand for precision, reliability, and long-lasting technology. These values align perfectly with faytech’s strengths. Since my tenure began, we’ve enhanced our local support structure, provided one-stop-shop for Japanese clients, and started forming strategic partnerships with industry leaders to expand our reach in touchscreen solutions in Japan.
What are some unique challenges you’ve encountered in introducing faytech’s touchscreen solutions in Japan? How do these differ from other regions you’ve worked in?
One of the key challenges is the extremely high expectation for product quality standards and severe requirements for local spec and certifications. Japanese clients demand not just excellent technology, but also consistent after-sales service and product longevity. Compared to other regions, the decision-making process here can take longer because of thorough evaluation cycles – but once trust is earned, partnerships remain strong and long-term for touchscreen solutions in Japan.

In your view, how does the Japanese market differ from other regions faytech operates in? Are there particular demands, cultural considerations, or applications that stand out?
The Japanese market values precision, high quality, and responsiveness at a level unmatched elsewhere. Clients often request tailored solutions that integrate seamlessly into their systems, rather than off-the-shelf products. Culturally, trust and consistency are paramount – relationships matter as much as technology. It takes years to build up trustee relationship through open and fair trades, but it can be fragile caused by irresponsible actions, especially in touchscreen solutions in Japan.
Could you highlight a notable success story or significant client implementation in Japan that exemplifies faytech Japan’s capabilities and approach?
One example I’m particularly proud of is our collaboration with a leading company in the disaster prevention sector, where we provided rugged 65” OB monitor solutions tailored to tabletop touchscreen for emergency meeting room while maintaining short delivery needs and also good quality. This project demonstrated our ability to adapt global technology to local needs, and it has since become a showcase for how faytech can combine durability, customization, and reliable support in touchscreen solutions in Japan.

With rapid advancements in touchscreen technology, how does faytech Japan stay ahead of innovation? Are there specific features or R&D focuses that are tailored for the Japanese market?
We maintain close collaboration with our global R&D teams while actively gathering feedback from Japanese clients to ensure our solutions address local requirements. We try not to compete against existing big players but search for small niche market with our advantages. Features such as high-brightness displays for outdoor use, advanced optical bonding for durability, and improved touch sensitivity with gloves are examples of our focus advantages in touchscreen solutions in Japan.
Which industries in Japan are demonstrating the fastest growth or most significant interest in faytech’s products? Are there any emerging sectors or surprising applications?
With tailwind of digitalization, signage monitor market is growing by 15% CAGR. Industrial automation and smart manufacturing are one of the strongest growth areas for reliable HMI solutions. Commercial and Retailor are also expanding, where our high-brightness, durable touchscreens play a key role. An emerging trend we see is demand in transportation and logistics, especially for rugged, sunlight-readable displays in touchscreen solutions in Japan.

How does faytech Japan differentiate itself through local support, customization, and responsiveness to meet the specific needs of Japanese clients?
Our differentiator lies in the combination of global expertise and strong local presence. We provide direct customer support in Japan and maintain a high level of responsiveness to feedback. Japanese customers value communication and reliability, and we make sure our support team is both technically competent and culturally aligned to meet those expectations for touchscreen solutions in Japan.
